Monday, August 24, 2009 - This wine was decanted and poured. The bouquet initially shows wonderful forward aromatics of graphite, black currant, cedar, vanilla and floral notes. The aromatics become more nuanced with airing. The color is an opaque purple to almost black. The medium/full bodied palate shows balance and depth with tannin structure on the finish. This is drinking well now for its youthful power and vibrancy. It will benefit from additional bottle age and most likely drink its best about ten years from the vintage.
