Monday, May 2, 2011 - Objectively, this wine is really well made. Personally, I think this is off the mark for a Chianti Riserva. The international fruit seems to really clobber the delicate Sangio flavors and aromas which seem to be in constant conflict with one another both on the palate and in the bouquet. A little too much oak as well. This is definitely made for the American palate but seems more fruit-forward and lacks the earthy / minerality component that I fancy in Tuscan wines.
