Friday, December 24, 2004 - Light, ruby-colored and slightly cloudy. Raspberries and strawberries on the nose, tart acidity at first evolving to a somewhat chalky texture on the palate. Mocha, vanilla, and oak with a medium-length velvety finish. Although this is an appellation wine, its made from all Hirsch fruit. If you can't afford the vineyard designate, this is a nice alternative.
