Wednesday, February 22, 2023 - Ruby garnet color on the rim. Lots of graphite, earthy mineral notes, muted fruit of dark berries and cherry on the nose. Palate is still tannic, no acidity, lots of dried dirt, graphite, kicked gravel, wet leaves, not a ton of fruit. Tasted over four hours, tannins dropped after about one hour and the wine became silky smooth. Could definitely go another decade but with a decant, drinking well now.
