Sunday, September 18, 2022 - 1st of 3 N.V. bottles recently acquired as part of a much larger cellar contents purchase with the vintages likely from the mid-'90's (accompanying Opus One bottle vintages '93 - '96). Highly recommend this Overture time period and despite the average CT price point this is now actually a very good QPR wine. Drink now not hold. Completely mature and soft - drink now not hold. Reddish purple, peripheral bricking, soft oak, tannins completely resolved, soft mouth feel, very well balanced and layered and overall quite Bordeaux like. Lovely long lingering soft aftertaste. Nose soft with initial barnyard which blew off quickly revealing dark cherry, plum, mulling spices and lilac. Primary flavors now secondary with blueberry, cedar, coffee, stone and a tobacco box finish.
