Sunday, January 21, 2024 - An older version (have cellared for probably 8-10 years), I was excited to try an aged multi vintage Bordeaux blend because I believe more top producers could and should be putting out multi vintage blends just like in Champagne in order to produce a great consistent product and mitigate vintage risk. I enjoyed the bottle with dark red fruit, silky mouthfeel, still tannins present and long finish but no way should this be a $150+ bottle, as maybe that is the Opus premium (I don’t think Opus is worth it for the cost either). At $150, an aged Lynch Bages would blow this away and my much cheaper Pride Napa 2014’s do as well. Still, cool to try and I enjoyed the wine but the pricing is off…
