Sunday, September 24, 2006 - Pop and pour. For the first hour, this was vegetal and metallic, and completely unpleasant. Over time these traits softened, replaced with cherry cough syrup, red licorice, and traces of eucalyptus and oak. While the wine retained a nice grip on the glass from an appearance aspect, it tasted thin and slightly hot. After 3+ hrs this mellowed and became more drinkable, probably closer to an 87. Overall however, I'm glad this was a gift and didn't set me back anything.
