NV Opus One Overture

Sunday, January 10, 2016 - Popped and poured over an un-contemplative Sunday familes gathering lunch. Hard to take this wine seriously when the winery doesn't ascribe a vintage to it or even put a note on the label that is a blend of vintages. They are missing a marketing trick here because they could make an allusion to Krug NV vs Vintage. Whatever.....young in appearance (it was bought from the winery a couple of months ago), very approachable, belly-filling ripe fruited and well made Napa Cab that is very steak-friendly but a bit heady at 14% alcohol. Not worth the entry price.

1/29/2016 8:24:00 PM - If you can "easily source" an Opus One for "approximately the same price", there is no reason to complain about the Overture price point. If one could "easily source" any 200 bottle of wine for 95 bucks, what point are you trying to make for 99.9% of the rest of us who can't "easily source" an Opus 1999 in the 95 dollar range? I'm confused at your making this statement. No one would ever ask you to choose otherwise if you have this "source".
