Friday, April 1, 2011 - Lots of Bordeaux character here with pepper, cassis and spice all over the place. The nose makes me think ribs with a smoky BBQ sauce. There is a sweet note on the palate with with lots of licorice, thyme and nice tannins. Definitely New World, but in a well done way. Not too sweet or over the top. Great length and lots of ageing potential. Very big.
