Monday, April 11, 2011 - Big Cali pinot nose of sweet red fruits and a touch of darker berry. Surprisingly light on the attack, firm red berry fruit with just a touch of darker berry, held in check by an acidic backbone and some smoke and maybe hints of herb buried in the tannin. Obviously has yet to strut its stuff on the back end but for all that the finish is still enjoyable, repeating the earlier berry notes. Lighter side of medium bodied. Sort of a Cali take on an '06 Beaune. I'm a fan. From 375ml. 91-92.
