This note is based on a bottle I had at MK restaurant in Chicago. Medium yellow-gold with just a touch of cloudiness. The nose is exuberant with green apple, pear, and brioche with hints of custard. Bursts onto the palate with youthful acidity, creamy and full bodied yet crisp, with a streak of minerality on the midpalate onward and the beginnings of floral notes on the finish both somewhat obscured by the youthful flavors. The finish is long with the oak obvious but already well integrated- I didn't get the alcohol mentioned in other notes at all. I suspect I would rate this wine higher with a bit more time open or another year in the bottle.

Big Cali pinot nose of sweet red fruits and a touch of darker berry. Surprisingly light on the attack, firm red berry fruit with just a touch of darker berry, held in check by an acidic backbone and some smoke and maybe hints of herb buried in the tannin. Obviously has yet to strut its stuff on the back end but for all that the finish is still enjoyable, repeating the earlier berry notes. Lighter side of medium bodied. Sort of a Cali take on an '06 Beaune. I'm a fan. From 375ml. 91-92.

Pure dark fruit and a distinct herbal character come through on the nose. Big but light on its feet, shows blackberry and black cherry offset by rosemary, tobacco, and grassy earth with a touch of smoke. Medium plus bodied, nicely textured fine tannins, and just a bit of acidity. Was still going strong on day 2- this will probably age, but why wait? 91+
