Friday, January 17, 2020 - MD’s Birthday Wine Dinner @ ZYX: MD’s Sassicaia vertical of 1995, 1999, 2003, 2004 plus my 2001 (what a coincidence) - ranking from top: 2003, 1995, 2001, 2004, 1999. Initial nose of aged Bordeaux and honey. Red fruits, raspberries, eucalyptus, truffles, tobacco leaves, spices, saffron, terroir. Very long mint leaf finish. Elegant with silky tannins. Harmonious and in a great place now. This is in my lane - very impressed. Really an eye opener for Sassicaias tonight.
