Monday, December 29, 2014 - Pre-New Year with Robin 2014: Deep+ black-crimson to the garnet rim. Penetrating nose of cassis, blackcurrant, graphite, dark chocolate 90%, some coffee and smoke of oak too.
Full-bodied, velvety texture with wonderful depth of flavour and a seamless, yet firm tannin. This is a powerful, brooding wine with good concentration, guts and opulence to it. Certainly complex and layered on the palate, there is plenty of black fruits, melted chocolate, and more. It has a forward slant to the wine and whilst there is density, it isn't as dense as I expected. I also found it to be drinking very well now but will be interested to see how it will develop going forward.
