Tuesday, June 19, 2012 - Popped, poured and tasted over three days. Day one this is very tight, showing a mix of red and black fruits, licorice, blood, and black pepper. On days two and three, the wine has opened up and the fruit shows more ripe and sweet with the black pepper and blood notes in the background. The licorice is no longer there. Overall I think/hope this wine has good potential but I am slightly concerned about the ripeness/sweetness. The 2005 vintage of this is still my favorite. I will wait a few years before opening another.
