Sunday, October 30, 2016 - The taste is very full-bodied, fruity and intensive, with almost port-wine-like character. The aromas and flavors of Christmas spices and ripe fruits are lovely. The strong alcohol content leads to somewhat heavy impression, but in a good sense. The tannins have resolved, however, and the wine feels soft on the palate. This is a very fine Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which is in an excellent, early mature phase at the moment.
