Friday, March 2, 2018 - Tasted blind. Mature dried dark fruit flavors. Maybe some roast beef juice. Soft and sweet with medium weight and velvety consistency. Low acidity, low tannins, outsized fleshiness. Quite tasty. I often equate these sorts of flavors to those in beer. This is not unlike a bottle of Rochefort 10 that I had recently. Rating: 91.

Guess the wine. Chateauneuf du Pape. ~13 years old.

Non-Blind p.s.: Continuing to taste this, there's quite a lot of peppery heat to this wine and more complexity than I expressed in my blind review. If I were to re-rate it now, I'd put it in the 92-93 range.
