Friday, January 13, 2012 - This is a very soft and fruity, easy to drink, Cotes du Rhone. No pretenses here, this is a relatively simple wine for immediate drinking, that accomplishes what it was designed to do. I can imagine some percentage of whole cluster fermentation. I can taste the transferring of fresh pressed wine with the lees to a holding tank, don't think this saw a barrel, although there is some charcoal characteristics on the roof of the mouth. Deep extracted color. Red fruit and alcohol on the nose. Some blackberry pie on the palate with black cherry, and even some plum. Adequate, but not overpowering acidity. Sneaky little tannins that show up more on the finish.Tasty, hedonistic wine will be great with hardy meat and vegetable dinners.
