Friday, December 26, 2014 - Not the strongest showing, just lacking the class usually associated with the GR comparing with the reserva. This is still good, but nothing exceptional to differentiate the Tondonia Reserva (or the Gravonia according to some other guests that tasted both side by side). Classic flavours of lemon curd, dusty oak, wrapped in bracing acidity. Fabulous nose that doesn't follow through on the palate. I found the recently released 1994 GR Tondonia to be lacking the special pizzaz as well. Sign of a change in style?
