Wednesday, February 8, 2017 - While this bottle elicited adulation around the table, to my palate it was a decent bottle of village red Burgundy from a difficult vintage, but nothing more. A mature nose of fall leaves, dried red cherry, sous bois and a framing of new oak introduces a supple wine with melted tannins, decent mid-palate depth and dimension (deftly chaptalized, one suspects) and a expansive but fully evolved finish with a touch of whole cluster salinity. Nothing to be gained from waiting any longer if you own this.
