Monday, September 26, 2016 - Enjoyed with filet mignon this evening. My wife and I drained the bottle over dinner.
A bit primary upon opening, this wine really opened up over the course of an hour (we did not decant the wine, to it's detriment).
Black cherry and cassis fruit, some mild anise or perhaps eucalyptus, followed by a rocky/chalky creosote finish.
The wine was not hot, and showed beautiful balance, especially after being opened an hour. The tannins are still present, but are definitley wearing down nicely with some bottle age, and the fruit is there in spades to still support the wine and give the true Napa feel.
Drink now through 2024+.
