Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - So, this 07 Ramal Chardonnay Dijon Clones from Buena Vista was rather good. Very oaky, strong, complex heavy Chard, but not just your usual California oak-butter. A lot better than most oaked Cali Chards and nods to Burgundy, though it definitely has a lot of heft and is fruitier than I think i'd find in France, because they get the weather, even in Carneros: a big, strong hybrid. Needs a good foil, being so huge! melted brie and bread went quite nicely with it, though purists will probably scream at me! This has a lot of legs and will probably last some years yet.
