Saturday, September 25, 2010 - Apparently won't be released until January. Best to think of this sort of like a Chinon style made from California fruit. Except it won't fully please either a CA bomber fan or a lighter bodied acidic Loire fan, I think, as it is too earthy for the former and too rich/full bodied for the latter. Very earthy on the nose, with tobacco, herbs and raspberry. Concentrated old vine flavors (dry farmed as well). Tannic with an intense core of fruit. Very terroir driven wine. Right up my alley as it has a sense of place and varietal character even if it doesn't neatly fit into one category or another.
