Thursday, March 31, 2022 - Used a coravin to try something that I thought was probably past its prime, having been buried in the cellar for so long. Upon pouring in the glass, brickish coloring and sort of murky, indicating its age. Color could also be connected to being unfiltered at bottling. Bouquet was a little muted, but some promising dark red berry notes were still there. Taste was a little like pruned cherries and figs, with perhaps a note of red licorice. This was fun, but my expectations were low so maybe I was just surprised. Either way, I enjoyed sipping on it.
