In peak drinking window now. Definitely an iron fist in a velvet glove -- expansive dark fruit, round, balanced. Enormous nose. Best at a cool temperature; as it warmed up, the flavors became slightly muddier.

One of the oldest and best mature Pinot I ever tasted. I think I had this bottle for about 25 years or more and I was 100% sure it is gone... No words, except - - OMG, WOW!!!

Tasted blind, this wine had a red/purple center with some light red and orange at the rim. The nose showed black cherries, raspberries, brown spices, smoked meat, and soil.
In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with light, rounded tannin and solid acidity. While it was generally well balanced, I detected a hint of heat.
This still seem a bit young but certainly starting to drink. I would opt for drinking this over the next 5-10 years. Enjoy!

Decanted for one hour, paired with roast chicken. Ruby hue. Nose of violets, oyster shell, black cherry, raspberry, earth. Very fresh and bright on the palate with lush layers of bing cherry, black raspberry, iodine, mineral notes, and a bit of orange peel. Engaging acidity and smoothed out tannins leading to a long finish of winsome red fruit and hints of iron. Energetic and delightful for a wine over 2 decades old.

Medium body, fairly dark ruby with little browning or bricking. Nose is clean with only mild signs of age; on the palate this is lovely, elegant, medium cherry, restrained but flavorful, touch of fine tannins. Well balanced, fairly well resolved, not showing much tertiary character. A nice wine, very attractive though perhaps not particularly complex.

Wow. One of the very best Volnays I've ever drunk. Big bold dark fruit. Worth waiting 27 years!!
