Flat, lacks clarity,(more than just suspended sediment, which there is plenty of!) and "off" aromas dominate once it reached room temperature , like too many of the Water's 10+ yr old bottles, has lost its appeal, far past its prime, sadly

Decanted for 3 hours - Nice nose, classic WA cab - Dark cherries, leather, a bit earthy...
Very silky mouthfeel. A bit of pepper up front, quickly mellows out to some nice fruit and light vanilla. Coats the mouth and hangs out a bit. Loving it. Paring well with a nice grilled flatiron steak and corn with a southwestern seasoning.

Decanted >2 hours. Last tasted and reviewed in Feb. 2017. Wine is still exceptional but missing the WOW in previous reviews. Flavors still much the same but I feel this is entering the last window. If you have this wine, try it and see what you think but I would recommend drinking it up before it is to late.

Revisiting after opening on Sunday. Much better, deeper, more intensity and more fragrant. This was a little disappointing on first opening, but some time in the fridge worked well. Sweet long and very juicy, delicious and showing lovely currant and black cherry fruit. Excellent.

Smells yummy! Black cherry, vanilla, dirt. Soft, relaxed, fruit forward, no tannins, pencil lead (muted), dark fruit/berries, long finish, a hint of sweet. Great wine with fresh grapes. Terrific drinking at this time. Enjoy!!

This cab had deep flavors of black pepper, earth and leather. A true hard nosed cab that was brilliant. Absolutely outstanding, drinking very well right now and should get even better with more time. Stands up to the heartiest types of food piece makes both better. An exceptional wine.

Hazy notes from last night. Quite different from what I remember tasting several years ago. The fruit had moved to the background and the oak very much to the foreground. Nobody else seems to mention this excessive oak, so maybe this was slightly corked or otherwise flawed in some way? No score just in case, but this particular bottle was at a 87 (B/B+) level to me last night.

Perfect in some ways: deep and well integrated, excellent flavors and a fabulous, long finish. Yet, it lacks a sense of place. I'll not kick it our of my cellar for lack of...anything. But I'm not sure it rises to the level of 'classic'.

Opened and left standing for a little over an hour then recorked and took to a restaurant. When the cork was pulled again at the restaurant the aromas spread across the table. Very nice black berry and dark fruits on the attack followed by chalky fruit on the mid-palate with some floral accents. Very nice finish. The tannins were firm but this bottle was remarkably balanced. excellent.

This cab had deep flavors of black pepper, earth and leather. A true hard nosed cab that was brilliant with a grilled rib-eye. Absolutely outstanding, drinking very well right now and should get even better with more time. Stands up to the heartiest piece of meat and makes both the meat and the wine better. Just an exceptional wine.

Picked up 3 more bottles of this out of the Waters library. I first tried this a year ago and my feelings towards this wine has changed. This is what a washington Cab should be. Stands up to the heartiest piece of meat and makes both the meat and the wine better. Just an exceptional wine.

Excellent WA Cab. I have had this several times at restaurants and it is getting better with age. Smooth, dark fruit with a nice long finish. Very good!

Really coming into its own with fruit, spice, minerality. I like it much more at a discounted price. Love it at $29, but someone is loosing money that low!

A darker, more brooding interpretation of WA cabernet -- more black current and chocolate, leather and mocha. More pronouced on day two as well. Touches of coconut, now more eased into the over all smell than I remember it being on day one.
Plate is very WA to me, the acidic lift in the middle, a bit of a tucked in finish with the acidity and tannin clipping the fruit off. I would guess this will mellow in time. Flavors as palate would suggest, about average in thier intensity.
Overall very good wine, worth $45.

Some american barrel notes on the nose. But definately handled on the body. A bit more high char? Or maybe its just the mushroom earth note and pencil shaving thing coming through.

Pacific Northwest Tasting Trip (Walla Walla Day 2): Nose of vanilla, dark fruit, eucalyptus, and sagebrush. Palate of dark fruits, tobacco, pencil shavings, and a little underbrush, and oak. Good finish and decent mouthfeel.

Still drinkable but the fruit is largely gone and it’s hot. I suspect it would have been more enjoyable had a decanted it for a bit.

Minty, blueberry nose with aging flavors of blue berry, oak, pepper and tannin on a short finish. Drink now.

Brambles, herbs and blackberry in the nose. Blackberry, oak, bitter chocolate and a bit of pepper and heat on exit. I’d drink now.

A solid effort with a core of sour cherry and underbrush but showing a bit of age despite a nice, dark red hue.

Washington Cab at its best. Nose smelled like it had cab franc and merlot, but it's 100% cab. Big fruit, complexity, balance.
