  • Still tasting great !!
The cork was very dry after over a decade in the bottle, removed with a Durant. This balanced Pinot Noir was consumed over two days. Ruby color with moderate oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of cranberry and pomegranate, silky flavors of red fruit compote, and rhubarb with a pleasant medium finish. Popped and poured, this wine was much more soft and integrated on day two and had not fallen apart. Great fruit made into a balanced Pinot Noir from the Doctor's Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County. Great winemaking from Rob Jensen and Bill Brouseau at Testarossa. This Pinot Noir is an age worthy wine and may have many more years of life left. I still have one more bottle of this vintage remaining; I may open it in a few months or so to verify my tasting note.

  • Drank over two nights. Opened and at first was not overly pleased as there was a lack of balance and had a bit of that overdone feel. However, the second night and after a little nreating, this settled into a nicely balanced California pinot. Still a little big on the fruit, but nice full flavor and body, long finish.
