Not sure what the notes below relate to but the acidity in this wine is still super bright, plenty of life left. It is good off the bat but 2 hrs in this is delicious.

Decanted about 4 hours. It has been 5 years since we last had this and all I would say is 😮!! Opened up very nicely with aromas of berries and spice. A touch of earth but not overpowering. Smooth finish. Drinking very nice right now. An excellent wine.

Decanted 2 hours. Nose had hint of sulfite, which burned off quickly to show tobacco and tar, some dark fruit. Fore palette follows the nose, concentrated fruit flavors emerge in the mid heavily laced with licorice and spiciness. Long finish. Oak and tannins are very well integrated, drinking nicely now but likely could improve in the cellar.

I opened this a couple hours before tasting, though no decant. The nose was immediately expressive, the texture was medium-full, and had a creaminess to it that reminded me of an 08' Ridge Estate Cabernet (that has a similar Cab/Merlot %), but this had a little more nuance to it. Not a big and brawny cab, and also not a lean, wiry one by any stretch, but it had a good line of acidity and a nice medium finish. Didn't get too much pushback from the tannins so I think this is fine to drink now and don't really see it improving with further age, but just evolving. At around $40.00, this is a real nice value, and a good example of a new world Bordeaux blend with a typical fruit profile of red fruits mixed with currant, and well integrated oak. Would like to taste it against the 08' Ridge Estate someday to compare. In the end, I think what separated this wine from a couple other 09' WA Cabs I've tried recently (Dunham Trutina, Soos Creek Champoux), other than additional nuance was this L'Ecole had back-bone.

Fairwell my tasty friend, so sad to see you go. Beautiful mature example of Ecole's Perigee. Perfect drinking right now, subtle fruit ... tabacco...

Mighty tasty. Gave it a decant primarily due to it's age. Bold, juicy, long in the mouth. Last one.

I've enjoyed most L'Ecole wines but not this one. Overpowering alcohol and little offered as redemption

This was very good. Went well with rack of lamb. Glad I have another in the cellar.

Not terribly expressive on the nose. Flavors of dark fruit predominate. Very good wine, but was outshines by the 09 Apogee we opened along side it.

solid WA Bordeaux blend. Alittle lacking in depth but solid. A bit disappointing for the price

Still needed at least an hour of decant to settle the nose, tasting notes as before.

This time lots (!) of sulfite on the nose, needs 1-2 hours of decant to burn off. Tasting notes same as previous...
