After staring at this bottle on the rack for a few months, I decided I couldn't wait to put the poor bottle out of its misery so I took it over to a Holiday Open House at my wife's co-worker's home. OK, the wine is finally doing what it was probably meant to do all along. It's finally in balance -- nice acid, but in balance with the rest of the wine. Delicious layers of pear, lemon and lime with a great minerality (limestone) that has never shown its face before for me. Nice finish too. If only I had waited to drink all of these bottles until now. <sigh> 90 pts.

Gold in color, again with a good amount of sediment in neck. Nose is nice with toast, butter, lemon/lime comes out with a little air. On the palate this is nice and crisp. Toasty oak, tart fruit, and lemon custard or keylime pie shows up. This is my last bottle and they've all been very enjoyable.

leaner and less overtly acidic this wine is just starting to come in to balance -- finally! Still too one-dimensional of a fruit profile though. Getting better. 86 pts.

Color: cloudy greenish gold. A lot of sediment in neck. Nose: buttered toast. Palate: crisp & lively, nose really suggests more oak, but I get more tart green apple.

Color: goldish, cloudy. Lots of sediment in neck. Nose: butter at first then lemon zest. Palate: Just as nice as I remember. Dry, some oak, butter & lemon, long, nice balance.

Color is a dark yellow gold. Nose: is lemon/lime citrus, lemon custard or key lime pie; minerally, def. lemon/lime dessert pies; little buttered toast. Palate: nice, crisp-clean feel, wow this is great; lemon/lime definately comes out; no fatness or oakiness at all; minerally. Not at all what you would expect in a CA chard. Immediately ordered more of this wine.

Wow. I was truly suprised how much I enjoyed this wine. The opposite of many butter+oak bombs. My notes are not contemporaneous but what stansds out in my memory is crisp acidity without being bracing. Fruit upfront but not overly sweet. Seems great for sipping or as a food wine. It made the Dumol we had along side it seem flabby and oaky.

Meh. Very tart lemon and a good amount of chalkiness. Just unbalanced. Tasted with food and without. Food helped, but not much. Hoping to see it develop in to something I really enjoy instead of not.

slightly cloudy pale gold appearance. citrus and nut oil on the nose and palate. Good acidity and overall balance, with a long lemon curd finish. very good

Good, but a little too acidic for me at this time and a bit too much lemon, but I think this has potential. These need to sit for a bit before I try them again. Maybe in the spring of 2006 I'll pop the next one. 87 pts

Nice balance of citrus and pear, with a nice minerallity. It is really coming together nicely, and in about 6 months should be absolutely stunning.

Still tart and acidic and lemon-limey. Better than the last bottle but still disappointing. 85pts

High acidity, and a ton of citrus. A little subtlety would have helped!!!

Better than the prior 2 bottles I've had. Looks like this wine will continue to improvewith age. High acidity, and lots of fruit.
