My last bottle - sadly. Opened an hour before pouring. Was concerned it might be on the back side of the curve but this bottle was fantastic. Has to be about peak right now. Still sufficient tannin to hold up to a grilled fillet mignon, but softened and smooth. Great expression of a big, juicy, Napa cab. Delightful and sad to say this was my last bottle of this vintage.

Opened an hour before pouring (did not decant). A bit tight at first at cellar temp but after 20 minutes in the glass and warming up a bit it opened up wonderfully. Nice, ripe dark cherry and blackberry fruit well balanced with leather and tobacco notes. Rich mouth feel, age-softened tannins, long savory finish. Drinking great right now, can’t imagine it getting much better.

This bold cab continues to show deep color with some light garnet tones on the rim. The nose was dark fruit tones of raspberry, plum and maybe a hint of prune. The palate was dark fruit as well with plenty of tannic structure. The alcohol feels a little out of balance as there was considerable heat through the finish.
For some reason I don't love Alex Valley cab but this wine is alive and kicking and a good representation of the region.
Enjoy in good health!

Dense and opaque red color. Lush raspberries, blackberries, and plum accompanied by a moderate amount of oak on the nose. Full bodied, rich raspberry palate with oak and currant undertones. This was good, but was begging for a juicy steak. Perhaps a little overpriced.

Lovely mellow, smooth, well integrated cab. Still dark, no bricking at the edges yet. Not overly complex, but lovely flavours of dark fruit and earth. At this point with the manurity of the tannins and low acid wouldn't stand up to strong flavours like spicy barbecue, but was perfect with an aged cheese.

Opened for Mimi's birthday. This was a very nice bottle of wine. Great tannins and nice fruit with earthy undertones too it. We decanted for an hour and drank with a nice rib eye. This is a nice offering from RS. The wine's finish was a just slightly tart and not overly long - so couldn't rate much higher. Some aging potential here - so it could improve over time.

Bought a bottle in DC while on a business trip for $50 at a LWS. Popped and poured and it was ready to go. Tannins had grip but extremey well integrated. Perfect dark berry fruit, chocolate and smoke. Lush and full bodied. Would have been worth buying them out and shipping home at that price.

An extraordinary bottle of wine. Bursting with black cherry and cassis. Full body with sweet gripping tannins. Tastes so good now, but will easily last for 15+ years.

cherry, plum, very long legs, smells a tiny bit hot, but not apparent in the taste

A bit low on acidity but still luscious wine with loads of blueberry and dark fruit. Has the delicious factor, it is a real crowd pleaser!

Wine is improving. Won WOTN last night. Very enjoyable. I would say it peaks starting next year and has about a 5 year optimal window after that.
This requires at an least hour decent. Vastly better after breathing.
