Another 375 ml bottle. Ripe black fruit, maturing slowly and gracefully for a Bourgogne in this format. Still rich with earth hints, with faint nuance. Very good for the $10 I paid at release.

Another 375 ml. Much like the previous bottle from a few weeks ago. Ripe black fruit, fun and simple. Some firm tannins in the finish. Good now, this will easily hold well for several years going forward.

This bottle was more enjoyable than the previous one that I consumed. Less Beaujolais character and more typical Pinot Noir flavors, including more red fruits.
The acidity is medium and the tannins are fairly well integrated into the wine, which allows for easy drinking. There's not a whole lot of complexity to the wine, but it's unlikely to improve much with more time and drinking well, so you might as well consume now.
No formal notes taken - from memory.

The nose suggests a Beaujolais. Flavor is primarily dark fruit; it reminded me of a cross between a Beaujolais and a Pinot. Very concentrated flavors. No sweetness. Medium acidity and well-integrated tannins. 86-87 (drank to celebrate a friend running her first -- and hopefully last --marathon, so it's worth rounding up)

Drank without aerating. Initial smells of a nice Beaujolais, which gradually became deeper and richer. Red berries and garrigue at first. On the palate there was some cherry cola without the sweetness. Very little oak and decent acidity, bot of which I like in a wine. Lacking in complexity and length. Tannins are fairly low. I don't see this wine aging very long. Drinking well now, especially with a simple meal like roast chicken.

we drank the 2009 and 2010 HB Bourgognes at one sitting. Startlingly different. The '09 is reasonable, but tastes more like a bourdeaux. It's a bit darker and more earthy than I expected. Raisins and figs, a bit of leather. Biggish nose with cassis and vanilla. Oddly, it tasted better at the 30 minute mark than after 90 minutes - losing some body by then. I prefer my burgundies lighter, and brighter (more BMW M3's than 7 series). Cant say this is a favorite ..

375 ml bottle. Easily still fruit-driven with black black fruits, nicely fresh at this age for Bourgogne. Faintly drying tannins on finish.

From 375 ml bottle. Ripe black fruit with braised meat and earth. Still showing some firm tannins on finish. A good enough Bourgogne.

From 375 ml bottle. Ripe black cherry with good weight, but really dominated by the ripeness. Fun now, easily able to drink well for 5 more years.

Red and black cherries with good acidity and concentration. The fruit tastes less fresh than in previous bottles; drink now.

Black cherry throughout, with good density for its level, just slightly firm for the vintage.

Cherry aromas with slightly tart black cherry flavors with medium weight and good balance that are impressive for its level. Good value.
