  • Lovely rich, sweet floral nose with hazelnut and fresh rain in the mix. The palate is thin but silky. Acidity is the star of the show here. This is a racy, tart, crisp Riesling that leaves your mouth watering like a lemonade on a hot day. Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time pulling out any subtle flavors from the wine past the strong acidity. I imagine that is something that could possibly work itself out with another 5 years in the bottle. For now, it almost approaches a flaw level for me. Next thing to say about this Riesling is that it is quite dry. Not very much in the way of residual sugars. The finish is a bit short and a touch bitter. All in all, I was a little disappointed that the scrumptious nose didn't follow through on the palate. I would probably appreciate this wine a lot more with some nice creamy cheese, sitting in the sun on a summer afternoon. I would also really like to revisit this bottle in 5 to 8 years - just to see what that acidity does.
