lightly aromatic, initial subtle herbs, astringent and unbalanced to start. short finish. finally came together about 1 hr after opening. didn't care for it initially, but by the end, it became a decent QPR.

Deep ruby/garnet in color, strong oak nose with some forest floor mixed in immediately after opening. Somewhat sour with dark cherry, cranberry and elderberry. Fairly supple tannins and some light pepper mixed in the finish. Somewhat unbalanced, but fairly good QPR considering. With some air, becomes less of an oak bomb. Second day: left stoppered at room temperature, became much more in balance on second day but still a strong waft of oak and same sour fruit.

Thin with old world elements. The best part of this is the acidity, which might make it work with basic Italian red sauced foods.

Oaky nose, sour red fruits, low tannins. I like it
