Decanted for 30 minutes, but it took a bit longer to completely open. A nice shade of purple, with a fade to the rim. The aromas were of dark red fruit and earth. The medium bodied palate showed the same dark red fruits and earth, along with a streak of cherry, and a touch of spice. The acidity is nicely juicy, and the tannins are well integrated. Competent Brunello for ~$40 that should hold for a couple more years.

Dinner at Donato Enoteca. Decanted for about ten minutes. Cocoa powder, stewed prune, pipe tobacco nose. Big, round mouthful, chewy, structured and substantial. Non specific tastes became dried fruit, almost raisiny by meal's end. As good with red trout as with veal tbone. Medium, dry finish. Very nice particularly for the money, under $30/bottle.

Raspberries, funk, earth and spices. Medium to long finish and complex wine. Should drink well for another five to ten years. Seeing a note from 2011 I disagree with myself that this won't improve with more time. Totally underrated wine by the critics.

PnP. Black-tinged blood-red core, bricking meniscus. Nose of blackberry cobbler and menthol. Cherry, tar, cream and tobacco palate. Tannins moderately grippy at this point, but very much drinkable.

cheers - nothing much to add from other comments....wine was very good, not great, was too cold to start temperature-wise, and was better after it warmed/opened up

Drank with lamb meatballs and roasted fennel-dusted mixed vegetables. Even better after decanting for 30-60 minutes. Great balance of dark fruit and characteristic Brunello tannins and earthiness.

Nicely balanced. Leather, menthol, currant and plum aromas; black plum and earthy flavors, slight ash in the finish. Tannins are well-integrated. Likely hitting the front end of its prime period (while it definitely opens up when given some time, it drinks well from the initial pour), with legs to be worth keeping for another few years.

Decanted. Tried after 15 minutes. Very tannic. Waited 5 hours. Leather, bit of spice on the nose, dark fruit on the nose. Still very tannic, but more dark cherry flavors with some spice. Feels thin and light on the palate. Hold for a good two or more years. Will be better with food.

Hennepin Lake's Annual Tasting (Tons of Napa Cabs) (Minneapolis, MN): Drinking really well with raspberry, wood, earth and minerals. Balanced and good acidity. Drink now with a 2 hour decant or cellar for five years. I don't see this improving much beyond 5 years in the cellar.

Grand tasting recent vintages at Divino Tuscany

Glad I waited. Brunellos need time. A bit of brown on the edges. Multilayer fruit on nose and initially on the palate. Smooth earthy finish. Loved it!

A bit too much wood. Leather, spices and cherry. Sampled this wine over 3 days and still very young. Needs some time to integrate.
