  • This would be faultless, except that there is a touch too much alcohol on the nose. Huge nose of strawberry, cherry, cream and (sadly) vodka. Lots of strawberry, pomegranate, charcoal, leather and earth on the palate, along with the faintest hint of butterscotch. Impeccable balance of fruit, tannin, alcohol and acidity. Tastes great, goes down smooth, but smells only a tiny bit intimidating. Bill Eggert makes amazing wines. I think this is probably his lowest end one, and it still gives more bang for the buck than wines that cost fifty percent more than its price. Well worth the twenty some-odd bones I paid for it.
