First bottle available from Ian Cauble's SommSelect service. Drank with a Jura Arbois for comparison. The Gagnard exhibits typicity with tones of extraction/barrel notes, which lends more body and length. We enjoyed this C-M with a touch of Cali. At $32 we felt it was good QPR. Looking forward to more of his selections.

Fine Vines - Even More New Releases (Chicago IL): Wine tasting. Ripe fruit on nose and palate, would have liked more spice today. Very rustic and angular. I'm such a big fan of their whites, but I continue struggling to find red I enjoy. And not just J-N Gagnard...almost all of Chassagne-Montrachet.

Fine Vines Spring 2012 Portfolio Tasting (Nellcote - Chicago IL): Tasting. Godd red cherry on nose and palate. Firm tannins and assertive structure dominate with a rustic character.
