Deep gold. Slightly oxidized nose of dried flowers, nuts , butterscotch, herbs, and slight gym socks. Past it’s prime but I like my Chardonnay with age. Fruit has largely faded yet acidity remains.

Tasted double blind. Brief note. Pours a medium yellow gold in the glass. Nose and palate show honeyed stone fruit, tropical fruit, tart passionfruit, brisk lemon, and green apple. Bone dry midpalate with searing acid and crushed rock minerals give this the giddy-up it needed to drive this to a long finish that shows off citrus and a multitude of topical and stone fruits in layers between rocky minerals. Guessed 2007 Rheinhessen Riesling. What a wine. Never would've figured this for Cali Chardonnay.
