We had this at a friends 3/22/14 Chardonnay tasting. It had a deep, fragrant bouquet of pear, lemon, mineral and spice aromas. The palate was rich and layered with pear, Meyer lemon, mineral and baking spice. Our group’s average was 90.88

Took about 90" for a strong sulfur component to blow off. Decanted 2 more hours and was markedly better. Others' tasting notes eloquently and accurately elaborate the aromas, fast, and sensation I experienced (see cartime and Mattmauldin's notes). Compared to recent vintages, this seemed much more fruit forward (commiserate with the vintage) yet still had plenty of acid and structure (Doug's talent).

Lemon, nectarine, starfruit, white vanilla, and smoky minerals on the nose. Creamy lemon and stone fruit palate with a touch of oak and great minerality. I'd hold this for another years at least, but this has the potential to be really great in 5 - 8 years.

Pale gold color. Evokes honeydew melon and tropical fruit like guava; along with river rock, floral and honey notes. Just hints of butterscotch too. That's just the bouquet- it drinks with a neutral creamy richness that the fruit and hints of spice glide across. Stitched together with balanced acid. Lingering mouthwatering finish. Exceptional on its own or with food. Develops after opening- ageworthy. 13.6% ABV.

Paired up with raw oysters. Better than the previous bottle and similar notes to when we tried at the winery over the summer. Lovely lemon and saline components mixed with bright acid and a little oaky richness on the finish. Perfect with the Malpeques.

Not sure what to make of this bottle - not what I remember from the tasting at the winery. A little skunkiness and tobacco(?) on the nose with a rich palate that mostly showed it's oak influence. Hopefully just needs some time on its side for all elements to balance out.

Winery visit- 9/8. Alluring aromas- mineral, lime, straw, and butterscotch. Leesy rich palate with stone fruit and butter toffee notes. Pleasing silkiness and good acid. Lengthy finish- lush and breathy.

Tasted at the winery. Fresh and green on the nose with some herb and citrus. Med-full bodied with toast, sea breeze, and lemon zest. A pleasantly bitter note on the finish extenuates the citrus pith/seashore feel. I cannot wait to give this some time in the cellar. This might have been my favorite Chard of the whole trip....and from Willamette - who knew?
