Second bottle (first was flawed). Bricking color. Nose of mostly dirt, moss, and cherry. Ripe bitter cherry and mud on the palate. Very rustic. Not my favorite CM from Hudelot-Noellat, but pleasant and drinkable. Lacks elegance of CM. Reached plateau and will not improve further, however no urgency to drink. Improves after 1-2 hours of air.

Sadly, this was slightly corked. Drinkable but with a distinct musty note. Dark fruited profile, very ripe, lower than usual acid. Cork almost fully soaked.

A bit of funk that needed to blow off. Cork fairly wet 3/4 the way up. Gave it a good decant. Nice crystal ruby color with brick undertones. Takes a good coaxing to get a nose of clean cherry and wet stone. Entry is clean cherry skin. Dies back a bit mid mouth but with a silky feel throughout. A touch of bitterness to the finish - bitter cherry skin. Nice acidity remaining with a touch of tannin.

Cork completely bled through. Fairly light nose on opening but opened with time. Sweet cherry with a slight animal mustiness that built over time. Entry is delicious with a nice mid weight throughout. Finishes a bit dusty but deep with mineral complexity. Little harshness just lightly tart stoney fruit.

Drinks very well in 2017. Immense nose, a fantasy of truffles and dark roses. Red fruit with light acidity on the tongue, very little astringency or structure, vanishes all too soon, a stunner for a villages wine

Nose is not particularly strong but interesting and different - slightly baked and wooden with something almost like cherry but cooler almost blueberry fruit. Entry is very tasty building quickly to a round sweet and tart cherry. Finish is fine grained and very smooth without a touch of bitterness or harshness. Feminine and graceful, this is very tasty wine.

Typical nose of musty sharp cherry with nice floral component. Entry is smooth and bursting with sharp cherry and candied fruit. Really fills the mouth, with a great freshness and a very precise finish of sharp fruit and very fine tannins. This is delightful.

High-toned alcoholic nose, dark color and viscous on the palate, which is typical of hot years like 2003. Big attack, but then some green notes on the mid-palate. Needs time.

Old rose pink. Light nose of cherry and stone that opened up considerably in the glass. Even mouth of fairly sweet cotton candy. Deep tannins to last. Not great acidity. Could be a bit more lively in my book but that is likely 2003 heat showing. A very pretty bottle, straightforward.

I liked the minerality without the American graphite smell. Mix of cherry and black fruit, some mid-level woody notes (not really oak or plywood.)

Strawberry and spices. Great palate with some sweetness and slightly bitter. Short finish but very tasty.
