If u live in California u would never peg this as a Chardonnay. Golden color with still bright acidity. Citrus with a marzipan character. Long finish. Layered with some earthy complexity. More for heavy fish dishes perhaps.

golden yellow with apricot and pineapple on the nose. Full and creamy with more pineapple/exotic fruit and some minerality. A little tired/past the sell by date maybe but has been a while to drink a 10 yr old chardonnay so it worked well for us

A very pretty wine that is at peak. Soft, showing the low acidity typical of the vintage. Starting to take on mature flavors. Some oak but well integrated. Don't think this will keep for more than another 3-5 years and would drink now

Medium/deep straw - worryingly advanced appearance. Mature, subtle nose, lightly honeyed, slightly subdued, creamy oak, some green fruit and spice, some soil. Nice, evolved, subtle, perhaps a bit too subtle. Gentle pear fruit on the palate, soil notes, some lemony acidity adds a welcome burst of freshness on the medium/good length finish. Enjoyable but significantly more developed than the previous bottle, indeed for me just slightly over the hill.

Lovely stuff, far better than the previous bottle. Similar descriptors (Green-tinged mid yellow. Mineral, lime and slightly floral nose; also slightly herby. Mineral and lime on the attack, quite weighty and rounded) but showing the mid-palate complexity and poise and focus one would expect on the finish. Wish I had more of this.

Green-tinged mid yellow. Mineral, lime and slightly floral nose; also slightly herby. Mineral and lime on the atack, quite weighty and rounded. Slightly one dimensional on the mid palate. Positive finish though. Moderate length. Good but lacking a little - not as good as the more focused 99 drunk two years ago.

Bright, healthy medium straw appearance. Medium intense ripe pear on the nose, with acacia and mineral hints, seamless creamy oak. This is quite rich on the palate with satisfying weight and lovely fresh contrasting acidity. The palate perhaps doesn't have the mineral complexity of the nose, but is lightly honeyed with ripe pear, stewed apple and then creamy oak before the lovely citrusy acidity emerges on the very good length finish. Really excellent village wine, approaching full maturity but still may take on more complexity on the palate, a lovely match with baked salmon and noodles.

Medium lemon, some gold tints. Medium intense, developing nose showing stone fruit, well integrated creamy oak and a streak of steely minerality. On the palate this is a medium/medium+ bodied wine with firm acidity and good concentration with stone fruit, creamy oak and floral notes and citrus and minerality emerging on a long, clean finish. This is very good, elegant and charming, starting to drink now, has the structure and fruit to develop further at least over the next 2-3 years.

This wine aged beautifully! Rich thick golden honey, toast, toast, pears. If you still hold it congratulations!

Hay, honey, pear, apricot, vanilla and a little butter. Still holding well with a nice balance of fat and tartness.

A bit pongy at first, but gave way to a very satisfying full, round burgundy, soft but with nice spicy oak to lift it
