A nose of dark fruits and spics, dark purple in color. A full bodied red, with blueberry, plum, licorice and spice on long finish. Still needs a long decant, a mouth filling red. www.winelx.com

I was surprised how much better this bottle than the last one...while the prior bottle was kept from greatness by heat and saturation, this one seemed much more alive - solid blackberry, plum and grilled, smokey herb flavors. Still huge, but I got enough acidity here to keep things lively.

Seriously dark ruby. Super ripe aromas of stewed plums, cracked peppercorn and charred beef. Surprisingly balanced and lithe for its large scale. Layers of polished, chiseled, deep dark fruits and a very long finish. Excellent balance. This is quite new world, and quite enjoyable.

It takes a lot for a wine to be over the top for me, but this basically qualifies. Prune nose, with a fair amount of heat. When tasted, big plum and chocolate flavors - after an hour or so this calms down a bit.

Dark purple with huge bouquet of black fruits, violets, earth, hints of tar. The palate is big and forward with a gush of fruit, sweet and velvety tannins. The alcohol is noticeable with significant back palate warmth and this throws off the finish a bit. It is good with very flavorful, bold meals (BBQ ribs). Overall good, but a little out of balance with too much alcohol.

Second of two bottles that were part of my first ever K Vintners purchase; glad to have discovered it. Perfect for a night when you want something full throttled and a bit over the top. The blueberry and blackberry jam, molasses and vanilla, with a lingering smokiness on the finish leave you wanting to go ahead and pour another glass . . . when clearly the two you have already had are enough. Good stuff.

Decanted for 2 hours before drinking. Drank this next to a Mollydooker 2 left feet. Like former raters, this wine showed nice balance, dark fruit with syrah grilled meat, nice balance of acid and tannins and a good finish. Although high alcohol, the heat was in check, which was the most noticeable distinction from the Aussie effort and the sweetness of the fruit came through better. 2 bottles left and although it is approachable now, the nose might develop more complexity with more bottle age so will give it another year before the next bottle.

Opaque purple with loads of dark fruit, savory notes of charred meat. Big palate as balanced as it can be with the big alcohol. Not the best K syrah I've had, but not bad and if you are into flavorful, forward syrahs this is up your alley.

grilled meat, dark cherry, little earthy, slight hint of tobacco, a lot going on, big fan. Going to open the next btl at dollarspot's for the Super Bowl.

lavender on the nose. beautiful black fruit and light herbal aromas as well. Taste is big and complex. Tannins are big but not intrusive. Immense mid-palate which is what I adore, followed by a long slow finish. Absolutely great and need to find more. Will last longer, but tasting great now so not sure why I would wait too long.

Because of youth, decanted for 2.5 hours. Didn't get the deep, complexity experience as others. Like the last taster, there may have been something wrong with this bottle. It was just flat. I'll try my other but later.

This was part of a Norther Rhone tasting. Clearly new world and it stood up against other wines in the table. Dense, concentrated, dark, yet balanced. The tannins were a lot more integrated that the other Syrah's from the Old World. If you like the wines with high acidity, this might not be your style. The nose improved as the night went on.

- Crimsom color with fast forming legs and aromas of blackberry and cloves and has flavours of blackberry, raspberry and black pepper - Enjoyed this wine very much at Phillip M's.

Wow, the 2009 K Vintners Syrah Morrison Lane Syrah is a Monster of a wine. It is remarkably dense and concentrated with a bouquet of blackberry, blueberry, milk chocolate, freshly scorched earth, mineral and spice just to name a few. This is full-bodied, layered and juicy backed by a rock solid structure built around round and polished tannins which work their way effortlessly into the long mouth-watering and delicious chocolate filled finish. The Morrison Lane vineyard has the oldest syrah plantings in the Walla Walla Valley, with southeastern facing slopes and slightly cooler site in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. The soil composition consists of Touchet silt loam and riverwash, sandy loam with coarse sand and gravel. Planted in 1994. (Drink 2012-2027) - February, 2012 (JD)

Nice mature syrah. Threw off a lot of sediment and is solid from nose to finish. Time to drink.though.

A beautiful wine with pungent aromas including mushroom, forest floor, and slight amount of regurgitated food. Unique and quite enjoyable.
Flavors of blueberry are immersed in a velvety and viscous juice. Long finish with white pepper as the dominant in mouth spice.
