Purchased from the winery soon after release and cellared at 55-57. Cork was not long and halfway wet but the wine was fine. Cab Franc provides a firm backbone for this blend. Whatever the cost may have been it was a fine value and enjoyed.

I liked this wine. It has a strong green pepper taste. That is the Cab Franc coming out. I drank it over the course of an evening and served it with steak. It held up to the steak and was a nice complement to the mea. As the wine opened up the bitter pepper taste (this is not necessarily bad) diminished and it started to taste more like a traditional red wine. Also, I like the winery, they are dog friendly.

Not sure about this. From 1/2 bottle. Strong cedar and pine on the nose masking just about all else. medium body, moderate drying tannins, moderate acidity. I think its getting a good amount of tertiary flavors.... if that is all cedar. Strong woody green pine, light black fruit, licorice, strong bitterness, and finish with some black tar.
Frankly way too much pine/cedar. It dominates the wine with the bitterness secondary. It got worse as it sat. I guess drink this young?

Ultra earthy with a nice peppery finish. Clearly from Virginia - it has the trademark "thin" quality - but among its peers it is a big winner. Better from the bottle than it was after air in the decanter.

Flavors of plum and dark fruit, tobacco, earth, with a touch of vanilla oak. Smooth, lighter bodied Bordeaux style blend. Medium tannins. I've found that Boxwood wines require a few years for the tannins to integrate. Tasted over 3 days.

This is the V8 Juice of wines; it tastes like a vegetable garden. Very earthy & herbal. Not much fruit. Old World for sure. Light-to-medium bodied.
Would be good w/ much autumn/winter fare, such as braised meats & stews.

Very poor bottle when you consider what else you could get for the price.
