One of the most oxidized bottles of wine I've ever had the misfortune to smell, much less taste (and then promptly spit out, including a little barf). Purchased from WineBid two years ago, so who knows. The cork was quite stained. Wow this was bad.

I open one of these every 3 to 6 months and lately the last 3 bottles I've opened have been bad. Is anyone else having issues with this wine at this time? Smells like vinegar, tastes worse. I'm a huge AMV fan and probably have over 100 bottles or reserve, esperance etc. Just wondering if it's a cellaring issue, bad luck with corks, or the wine is in a funk stage.

plums and cherries up front but then finishes with an earthy spice of cinnamon and nutmeg. This thing could have probably used another few years in the bottle.

Dark Ruby in color.Rasberry, cinn and spice on nose. a bit tannin on mouth feel, long finish still needs time to integrate the tannins? Leater and dark dark fruit on palate. Needs more time to come into its own. (try in 5 yrs) Finished on the second night and the wine has really opened up. Brooding dark fruit flavors and aromas with the rasberry singing through, nice medium finish for a syrah. very tasty in need.

($34) Intoxicating nose that suggests super-ripe northern Rhone wine…Cote Rotie I suppose - creosote, nail polish, liqueur, bitter chocolate…I kept thinking of new aromas the more time I spent with it. Inky color, but not entirely opaque. The palate is a bit of a different story. Medium-full bodied, and very ripe but with painful acidity on the front and sides of the tongue. Concentrated, tight. This seems to need time. I hope the wine balance out with some time.

Completely disjointed. Over the hill and undrinkable.

1994-2004 Andrew Murray Syrahs (Bi-weekly Blind group tasting): Groups #7, my #4
Rhone like nose, herbaceous, leather, a little bit of band-aid.
Oak, tobacco, cranberry and herbal flavors, long finish.
