(13%) 50% Nero d'Avola, 25% Merlot, 20% Syrah, 5% Cabernet Franc - Some life on the palate with initial tart red berries before being washed away by lush fruits which continue through to a vanilla sweetened finish that shows rustic edges as it mellows along with a touch of heat. At $7 kept me more interested then I thought it would despite coming off as a bit manufactured. A fine pizza wine.

color: medium red-purple; nose: candied flowers; taste: light-to-medium-bodied mouth feel, faint raspberry taste, medium-length finish with tones of cocoa and tasty tannins; overall: happy-tasting Old World pour which shows restrained elegance and comes at a good price ($12/bottle), should pair well with simple roasted chicken, veal, or pasta w/meat sauce

Medium-bodied with medium acidity, deep black fruit, a bit of leather and fantastic licorice.

Floral/fruit nose. Currants and berries. Slight earthiness, not much tannin. In terms of budget wine that's ready to drink ASAP this is pretty nice.

Had with oven roasted Portabello mushroom and pasta with marinara sauce. Perfect match. Not big. Mellow. Good initial fruit. Not a long finish

Focused and elegant, but simple. Red berries, well made.

Excellent quiet evening bottle. Smooth and even balance of fruit and body. Oak and heavy fruit bouquet but even body. Very enjoyable and recommended.

Italiensk Vinfestival 2011 (Turbinehallen, Aarhus): Black currant and raspberries on the nose. On the palate black currant with some pepper and finally tobacco.
