Needed a lot of air, and was in fact better on day 2. Something dark, plummy and vaguely even port-like on the nose. Mid-weight palate gave way to poutporri and dried dark fruits that I would call a cousin to wines from the Piedmont.

A moderately impactful RdD, but with balanced and some intensity. Plenty of nasal impact. Spice, blue/black fruit, earth, leather, the works. Heat on the finish, which is fairly lengthy. Not quite as rustic as I'd hope for.
BTW, I totally agree with the need for ample decanting.

Best showing yet for this wine. It was aerated the decanted for 3 hours. It could use even more. Nice fruit and earth. Ultimately this wine needs 3-5 years. This wine is one to cellar.

Nice color.Spicy, vanilla, some wood. Medium to full bodied and a decent finish. This wine is far from elegant but a very good value for the money. I paid $38.99 from Last Bottle and wish I would have purchased more. Decant for a few hours and enjoy.

Enjoyed at dinner party with friends. Gave three hours of air before dinner. Lovely stuff. Dark and earthy, fat and silky, mature fruits and dust. Was having too much fun to take better notes. :-)

This was a chore to drink. Decent nose when I opened it. I decanted it for 1 1/2 and the first glass had an dreadful funk. It subsided over time and the fruit and earth appeared, but this was at the very end. I hope the other 6 bottles I have are much better.

Not a fan, less so at the price point I just found it's going for. On a night of very great wines from Mouton to La Landonne, this just didn't fit. Comes across as simple, with a future that's not got much more going for it then it has at present. Perhaps it was the light in which this was shown (i.e. the other great wines), but this was one of very few wines I chose to dump before the end of the first full glass.

An excellent wine. Very complex taste...licorice came through and had a smoky taste...somewhat spicy finish. This paired very well with some steak that we had. Fruit notes are not very strong and contrasted well against an Australian Cabernet that was open. Would recommend this wine.

The wine looks Brick colored. It smells like Red Currant, Raspberry, and Cherry. It tastes like Red Currant, Raspberry, Gooseberry, Stoniness, and Cherry. The body is Medium. The wine has Polished texture. The wine finishes Medium. Recommend opening for 1 to 2 hours before drinking or else the tannins will be a bit sharp. However, with air, the mouth feel is greatly rounded out and the flavor is complex and juicy. The wine is approachable now!

The Reserva shows a similar profile to the Crianza tasted right before, however with minute differences. The color of the wine is the same, a dense dark central core that is slightly translucent with a dark red to purple rim. The nose is a bit more focused and intense, with licorice, incense, Indian spices, cloves, violets, espresso, roasted meat, smoke, burnt earth, roasted red peppers, and crushed stones. The flavors on the palate show dark plums, blackberries, and a small touch of anise on the attack. On the mid-palate there are notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, smoked meats, and tangy minerality giving way seamlessly to an intense finish filled with dark berries, Indian spices, and savory roasted red peppers, accompanied by chewy tannins. In terms of flavor the Reserva is slightly more subdued than the Crianza, however the major difference is the precision and cleanliness of flavors. The textural experience of the wine is also different, the Reserva has more depth and weight as well as a smoother finish with regards to the tannins.

Lovely mature wine. Sort of a salted beef with blue/black fruit combo in a silky texture that I found extremely enjoyable.

Dark, inky purple
Meaty, wet moss, soil characteristics
Nutty, earthy, salty and sweet, barnyard
Dry, thick, viscous, full bodied. Black current, sherry cask, high alcohol
A typical Duero. Very well done. :)

Poured from Coravin
ripe and headed into its window. drink in next 5-8 years. there's a nervy minerality hiding under the fruit.
