The Turley PS’s seem to be almost tame compared to their zins, in an apparent contradiction to the varieties. This was tamed, blueberry, acidic bite without much tannin behind. I wonder if their PS’s might just drink a little earlier than expected?

Spice and mint in the nose with calm blue fruit, pepper and a bit of heat. Turley seems to coax an early, moderate response from this notoriously long-lived and harsh grape that typically takes much longer to mature. Drink any time.

Reached into the cellar and this is what I got. Popped and poured. Nice bottle of wine but not as delicious as the previous bottle I rated toward the end of last year. The tastes are smooth but not as plentiful as before. Nor are the tastes as well balanced as before. In the end, however, this is still a special cuvee.

Wonderful well balanced wine with a lot of character. It is drinking well now. Fantastic nose. Even better thick tastes of spice, dark fruit, cassis, and vanilla. Long aftertaste.

Decanted for an hour. Delicious black cherry and spice on the nose, soft tannins, and medium high acidity. The wine is very drinkable now with potential to go at least another five more years. Happily I have a few more in the cellar.

Inky deep with a strong acid core. Red fruit and tobacco. Long finish. Quite nice!

Very rich and fruit forward, but balanced with some nice complexity. Great with food. These can be aged longer.

Enjoyable; dense and tight; full flavored with cassis; opened slowly over 2 hours but never reached a level to have a "wow"

Great wine, good depth and long finish, age has mellowed the tannins which are very smooth, and holds a nice spice on finish, no acid.

Very nice! Cherry and dark fruit, with a little spice. Smooth, with tannins that are softening.
