Fantastic QPR, and it really can age. Relatively smooth, loads of dark fruits and some wood. Very nice, especially for the price. Was still drinking very well on night #2.

Nothing special about this wine. It's sweet and oaky...an obvious entry level and mass appealing Aussie syrah....but I must confess that I found it tasty and food friendly. 87+

Este australiano também aromático a frutas vermelhas a amoras e cereja, porém com mais frescor. Sabor a frutas vermelhas, refrescante, alcoólico, bem ácido com um pouco de pimenta e taninos presentes.

Upon opening the bottle, the nose hints at acidity followed by strawberries and the slightest tease of cocoa. Let it open and the chocolate shines through. The mouth has a medium, creamy feel. Strawberries all the way through ending with a smooth, round, chocolaty finish that fades gently.
Been a while since I was actually "wowed" by a $12 bottle, but this did it. If you can find a better bottle under $15, PLEASE let me know!

Hard to decide whether to drink Jacob's Creek Reserve shiraz now or let it age a few more years. This one had a mouthfull of fruit with some complexity, which will certainly improve with more age. I would suggest buying a case and holding it for 2-5 years. You will be pleased.

This is one of those hard to describe wines. More good than bad is happening here. There is incredible dark color. The nose is focused black berries bathed in acidity. Not near the viscosity on the palate, the nose would indicate, but still some sneaky complexity. Pure, blackberry and blueberry fruit, entangled with some dry fresh bitten plum skins. Either the bottle age, or the wine making style, has softened the approach. Probably too much manipulated acidity in front of the super sophisticated soft, expressive, reserve quality tannins. Very approachable. not expensive. Deep. Has that acidic taste on the finish that begs for a couple of years of cellar time. Good value.

Vermelho violáceo, quase opaco, com tons rosados e translúcidos nas bordas. Aromas tostados e de madeira. Sabor elegante, com taninos marcantes, porém equilibrados. Encorpado e persistente.

S: black raspberry, spice. T: strong berry, dark cherry up front. Medium oak in the middle with some acidity. Finishes off with hints of bittersweet cocoa. Could stand to age for awhile to help it mellow.

Terroirist Sample Tasting - Australian Shiraz: SRP: $13. On the nose, sweet plums and blackberry pie, chocolate, spicy and smoky oak, and an interesting hint of pink grape fruit. On the palate, the wine is thinner than one would expect and the oak seems artificial, as it lingers. Ripeness, acid, and tannin are all in balance. Considering the price, a good QPR.

color: deep purple; nose: faint cherry and cotton candy; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, cherry jam fruit taste, medium-length finish of plum, anise and black pepper; overall: meh -- simple and ordinary, OK as a friendly weeknight wine, OK QPR ($10.50) -- it would need to come in at $8 to qualify as a good buy. For the same price, Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz is a much better bottle.

Great QPR. Very consistent vintage to vintage. A good wine to have on hand for non-special occasions.

Typical Aussie Shiraz profile, well made, smooth, full bodied. A few years of bottle age give this a nice mature note. Drinking nicely now.

This was enjoyable with pasta and tomato sauce, believe it or not. Some good black fruit, but not overly heavy. Good value.

Horrible. No style, no character. Astringent, vinegary. Smell is ok. That's its sole merit. For sure, avoid.
