At this point in this wine's existence its solid savory with very little fruit (deep dark or otherwise) left. It works as well as it does because its very balanced with interesting notes of mushroom and forest floor. Easy to drink and pairs well with strong cheeses.

Perhaps it's a bottle to bottle thing, but this one was mature, savory with nice fruit overtones. Balanced, easy to pair with dinner (Chicken Francaise). Not sure if there is much left out there in the world and not sure Alex offers this particular AOC anymore, but upon reflection this early effort is (finally) becoming something he can be proud of!

Savory. Tannins smooth but tart acids play back against them. Mature fruits. Nice enough but time to drink up. This was never meant to be aged this long. Not worth the wait.....

First reviewed about a year and a half ago, I'm in a less charitable mood as this really hasn't developed in any positive way. Still fruit challenged. Notes of barnyard funk still evident. Not bad in any sence but just really so so. Drink up!

Some barnyard funk upon opening, tight, closed, good color, not much fruit. Balanced but austere. Not very generous at this point. Let's see what tomorrow brings.....
Next day its bitter cherries but strangely nice. Its got a certain lightness which gives it a difficult charm. No bouquet left but no hint of oxidations whatsoever. It holds own its with a late Saturday afternoon snack.

Mature but drinking nicely with notes of savory, earth, spice and dark fruit. Past prime by a decade but careful storage has made up for a lot.

This bottle was showing its age but still savory with a hint of dark plumb.
