Garnet color, highly aromatic, powerful flavor of intense fruit (cherry, blackberry, plum, oak, spice) off dry, medium acidity, complex, full bodied, nice balance but only an average finish.

Decent bottle, but for the price there is more out there that is better. Not much of a nose, earthy dusty pallet with little fruit with a thin short finish.

The 2006 Chateau Chevalier Cabernet Sauvignon rates as 87 points with the CellarTracker community. Wine Spectator does not have a rating for the 2006 vintage of this wine, but rates the 2005 and 2008 vintages as 83 and 85, respectively. I align with the CellarTracker rating of 87. Cabernet sauvignon is a grape that enjoys many great vintages from a multitude of wine producers. While a rating of 87 is not particularly impressive, it is a decent score for a random occasion red wine, which appropriately fits the 2006 Chateau Chevalier Cabernet Sauvignon. However, at a price point of $30 per bottle one is sure to find better cabernet options. This wine would be a good deal in the low $20 range.
Rating Scale: Extraordinary (95-100 points); Outstanding (90-94); Very Good to Excellent (85-89); Good (80-84); Average (75-79); Below average (70-74); Avoid (50-69)
Note: Cost reflects base price only; it excludes any taxes and shipping.

Not bad - but not great either. Liked the nose better than the palate. A little astringent with weak finish. Even though $20 is not that much, I think there are a lot better bottles available at this price point imo.

Brought this to a holiday dinner with friends. This clearly was the best wine among more expensive wines shared over the evenings festivities. We were all impressed with the value for dollar. Rich bouquet, long legs, smooth with medium finish. Will buy again!

As always, one of my favorites for the price point. In that typical Spring Mountain style, this wine is very elegant, and would best most Napa wines of a similar price and many of a higher one as well. Not a fruit bomb, but more restrained and balanced with red fruit and an excellent herbal note that makes the wine a sure thing when food pairing. Acidity and tannins are held in check to round out the experience into a very complete package for this price point.

Nice wine with nice fruit and a smooth finish. It's was enjoyed as a cocktail. This is the second time I have had a bottle from this producer and I would have one again.

Dark ruby red with aromas of black fruit and hints of vanilla. Full bodied, rich dark fruit on the palate, medium tannins...nice long finish with flavors of vanilla at the end.

This is a solid cab all the way around. It did not open to the nose at all even after 2 hrs decanting, however, as soon as I put on my mouth it opened up and deliver what I really solid cab should deliver. Not a very long finish and the worst of every was its tannic finish. This is an unfiltered cab and those tannins at the end could give 1-2 more years to store. It showed a lot of sediment in the cork so decant is a must. Would I buy this wine again?....mmmmm... I don't know....maybe not... However, I would like to try it after two years to check those tannins in the finish....

Very solid cab, on the austere side, but a great representation of Spring Mt for $25. Lots of sediment, so filter! Smooth, elegant, but tannic on the finish. Will age, great with beef.

This one is hard for me to rate. I have a hard time finding cab that I enjoy; but believe me, I really want to. This is one I definitely like. The tannins are soft and smooth, and the red fruit is very ripe, bright, and delicious. I was picking up some nice cedar at various times too. However, Despite good balance, I found little complexity of any note worthiness. I'm just disappointed that I have spend $25 for a cab that doesn't make my mouth turn inside out when I can spend $15 to $18 for a Zinfandel or Malbec that really impresses me.....

Sediment under cork; decanted. Nothing unpleasant, a "good" Cab. I agree with the other review here that noted this Cab fades quickly. I see no reason to re-purchase.

Mineral, currant, vanilla and creosote nose. Solid and chewy palate with a fantastic sense of terrior; long and minerally with mint and cocoa on the finish. 5/5
