Wonderful fragrant aged Rioja. Blackcurrant and cherry on both the nose and palate. Colour now quite tawny on the edge. Overall quite aged but the acidity holds up wonderfully; long finish and excellent with food. Very glad I left this one so long.

4th and final bottle from our Marben dinner... so my notes for this one aren't as detailed or focused... Hence the lack of a score. Medium ruby colour. Smooth, with good concentration of dark fruit. Sharp tannins on the finish.

Keeps getting better, this bordered on spectacular. Warm and delicious, one of those wines I could just sniff all night (but instead we drank it, and alas, only one bottle remains). Dark fruit, licorice, mushroom, chocolate, old leather. And furniture polish, which could indicate some VA-related flaw but this gave the wine a comforting aspect like walking into my grandmother's house as a child. Either this was an extraordinary bottle or it's just really coming into its own now and we should have bought another case.

With Alex at his mother´s summer house; So good pairing with a homemade paella cause acidity and fruit bearing (mainly cherry). It was an enjoyable lunch and bottle to be remembered by years. What Rioja is all about.

A quiet immediate opening; then more robust. A more cpomex finish -- cherry at the end. Less spicy than some Riojas we’ve tasted. It has a bit more substance in relation to foods. Its immediate opening is quieter; then it fills out. Some Rioja bite b

It's alive! Red cherry candy, raspberry preserves, plum guts, wood box, cinnamon stick in cider, hoisin/sweet soy. Lush palate, with a savory, somewhat bitter, finish.

Old style rioja with lots of oak. The oak is still not integrated, so this needs more time.

Cherry and vanillas; toasted bread and plums: a round wine.
Cereza y vainillas; tostadas y ciruelas: un vino redondo y en su mejor momento.

Rich, dill, dusty strawberries, undergrowth, good acidity. This was one of the better bottles of this that we've had. Very good.
