14.5% alcohol. G 80%, Mrvdr 20%. Very short cork of reasonable quality; no wine penetration anyway. The colour is pretty dark with significant thinning at the edge of the rim. The nose shows black olive and ripe fresh black fruit, with just a raisiny hint in the finish, but nothing overwhelming. Similarly balanced in the mouth with vg acidity. There is nothing bulky here, which is remarkable for a G based wine; this shows special skills in both viticulture and wine making. Correspondingly leaner than most people's idea of a Gigondas, but none the worse for it. In vg condition now and for at least five years.

Hanging in there but past peak. Pleasantly surprised and a much better experience compared to my previous review. Fruit has faded but no obvious signs of age from this bottle. I would drink up as it is difficult to see how the wine will improve from here.

14.5% alcohol. G 80%, Mrvdr 20%. Short cork of vg quality, both dense and supple and showing no wine penetration. Deep colour with no sign of ageing. The nose is fresh with liquorice dominating garrigue and black olive. The mouth has plenty of energy and grip, with some unproblematic bitter notes in the aftertaste. Pretty distinctive in that it is more aromatic and less fleshy than most Gigondas, while pretty muscular at the same time; nothing overweight or flabby here. Very good length too. There is a definite house signature at this address, and I like it; maybe the best wine to use in order to convert Grenache-adverse drinkers to the considerable virtues of the grape? A very good wine and a repeat purchase.

Not sure what happened here - the pieces seem out of step with one another... stewed sweetness and out of balance alcohol. Too much ripeness on a wine not meant to sit 7 years?

Deep red with high optical density. The nose is somewhat closed, with not a lot of intensity, but still expressive, with strawberries, damp earth, and some light spice. Much more open on the palate, with full body, refreshing acidity, and a nice tannin structure. Flavours of red and black berries hit on the attack, with stewed prunes filling in the mid-palate, but not a lot of intensity or complexity here. The finish shows damp earth, black tea, and dried leaf notes, with the alcohol readily apparent, and the heat persisting for quite some time. A decent, fairly easy-drinking full bodied wine, but the alcohol is quite out of balance, and there is not a lot of intensity or complexity here. Solid, just not exciting.

Got this as a Secret Santa gift. My first Gigondas. 80% Grenache 20% Mourvedre, 14.5% ABV. Day 1, dark ruby red. On pop n pour the nose is muted and not giving off anything. Palate showing ripe blackberry, a touch of vanilla and tart dried cherries up front but kinda closed up till it finishes off with gritty green tannins. 2 hours in the nose is hinting at some fruit but is still pretty darn quiet. Palate is dark red tart fruit. Recorked and sent to the cellar. Day 2, the nose is still restrained, fruit went from blackberry to strawberry and maraschino cherry with a creamy texture, nice acidity and still pretty powerful tannins. Needs another day to settle down but coming around. That maraschino cherry note caught me off guard. Kinda cool. Day 3, Come to Papa! I knew she had it in her. The Mourvèdre is enticing the nose with its leathery animale. The palate blows up with delicious creamy red and black cherry, juicy blueberry and some spice all framed with great acidity and mouthcoating tannins that dissipate fairly quickly. Finishes tart and juicy with a little green bitterness on the back of the throat. Overall a nice wine that needs time to come into its own. Should be drinking great in a 2-3 years.

Appears to be past its peak and on the way down. Fruit is fading and the wine was thin. I would drink up.

Was good, if not spectacular. 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre. Rich, a bit young, but almost there. Relatively long finish.
